Some More thoughts on What to do...

Regarding aspect one stated above, I feel we can conduct a series of workshops with design students ( which I m planning to do an online course with my juniors at archi school), school children, etc. to understand the different aspects and forms of storytelling, their advantages and disadvantages for our purpose.

What to do and how to- Some thoughts...

As I mentioned in the mail, I feel we can take a two pronged approach to this.
One:
1. What kind of stories do people listen- which are those they tell and retell, listen and re-listen without getting bored?
2. What stories will make them participate in the story telling process... and more importantly what characters we can identify in those stories, or in the act of storytelling which makes the people actively particpate? (We can conentrate more on 'puppetry' here, as a form of story telling.)
Two:
This is the main aspect of the research, the hypothesis being, "by integrating storytelling aspects and acts in various stages of design, there will be marked improvement in the user participation in the design process."
We can try to validate this hypothesis by taking up a project which will need active partivpation of people. I have some projects in mind, but they are more of run of mill types... We got to think more in this front...
1. Mobile based education system for rural people ( taking my IDC project forward)
2. Some learning / gaming kit for children. ( taking forward the rsrch project - What do Kids play?)
will keep updating this list as soon as I think of something...
